What makes a teaching statement compelling? Insightful? Original? How can you translate your lived experience in the classroom into a cogent narrative on the page? What is the difference between a statement that shows the reader your approach, and one that merely tells the reader what you value?
Whether you are on the job market, up for reappointment or promotion, a nominee for a teaching award, or just looking for an opportunity to step back and reflect on your teaching, the Bok Center is here to help you draft a teaching statement that is authentic to your disciplinary context and personal style. Register for this workshop if you’d like to go through a series of helpful exercises designed to lower the barriers to writing and revising a draft, and for an opportunity to get one-on-one advice as you approach your final version.
NB: This workshop is open exclusively to FAS faculty.
