Tommy George is a fifth-year PhD candidate in SEAS in materials science and mechanical engineering. Their lab research is focused on electrochemistry for developing sustainable energy technology, such as large-scale batteries and devices to remove carbon dioxide from the air. Tommy has taught engineering thermodynamics at Harvard, and has several years of experience designing and leading hands-on engineering learning experiences for public school elementary students in the Boston area, with the Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO). Tommy is excited about how STEM education can grow and change while centering sustainability and climate justice in the development of engineered technologies.
