Joie is a PhD candidate in the Study of Religion, specializing in Tibetan Buddhism. Her research looks at the formation of archetypes of Buddhist monastic scholars whose abilities and interests went beyond strictly scriptural modes of knowledge, extending into the realms of culture and the arts. With extensive experience teaching for a broad range of courses at Harvard, she is excited to work with other TFs as a Pedagogy Fellow. She has a BA in English Literature & Film Studies from Yale University and an MPhil in Tibetan & Himalayan Studies from the University of Oxford.
