E.T. Stone is a PhD candidate in American Studies working in legal history and theory. Her research explores how private law—in particular, the law of property and family—creates the conditions of possibility for freedom, injury, and care in the United States. She has taught courses spanning a wide range of topics including political theory, American history, English literature, and philosophy.
