Fellowships

Learning Lab Undergraduate Fellows (or LLUFs) collaborate with the Bok Center’s Learning Lab to help Harvard faculty members design and test assignments that utilize innovative modes of communication such as movement, drawing, speaking, and more. LLUFs have the opportunity to explore and become proficient in a broad range of media, many of them digital (e.g. Cinema 4D animation software, Unity game development software, and Final Cut Pro X).

Undergraduate culture and communication consultants are hired and trained by the Professional Communication Program for International Teachers and Scholars to give international graduate students an undergraduate perspective on issues related to teaching and academic life at Harvard. They participate in Bok courses and seminars to give feedback on both teaching and language skills, and are also available for one-on-one discussion, teaching and language practice.

The Bok Center’s Graduate Fellows support innovative course development within the FAS, partnering with faculty and Bok Center staff to design a variety of tools, course materials, and assignments for undergraduate courses and departments/programs.

Bok Graduate Fellows support their home department, or a program closely tied to their disciplinary expertise, developing tools and content that are valuable for that department or program’s undergraduate courses. 

The Bok Center’s new Teaching Development Fellows support the training of FAS instructional staff (Teaching Fellows, Teaching Assistants, and Course Assistants) by partnering with Bok Center staff to co-facilitate introductory teaching training sessions for new TFs/TAs/CAs and advanced workshops for returning TFs/TAs. In this role, Teaching Development Fellows work with Bok Center staff members to develop skills in training, mentorship, public speaking, and higher-level thinking about pedagogical principles.

The Bok Center is hiring AI Fellows who will support faculty across the FAS in using generative AI tools for their teaching. Fellows are trained and supervised by Bok Center staff.
