Bok Center Learning Lab

The Bok Center's AI Lab is a working group for faculty and graduate students devoted to experimenting with emergent AI tools to augment teaching, learning, and the communication of academic work.  During each meeting we will:

  • share and discuss the AI news of the week (new papers, new releases, relevant tech industry news)
  • share new tools and ideas from Harvard's classrooms
  • experiment with every single new tool and API that gets released as it gets released

If you are ready to go "beyond the basics" of using ChatGPT; if you want to keep up with new academic papers and new releases from the major AI companies; if you have an interest in learning to “vibe code” as effectively as possible– or if you’d just like to meet folks with similar interests over coffee–then AI Lab is for you.

For those interested, we will be providing template code in Python notebooks and Javascript repositories on Github. But we want to emphasize that no prior coding experience is necessary; indeed, one of the central goals of the AI Lab will be to help those who have never coded before to take advantage of LLM-based tools to start building their own scripts, apps, and bots.

We are also launching an experimental Slack workspace to archive our activities for anyone unable to attend in person. This is where attendees can work collaboratively to design, build, and test Slack bot prototypes leveraging emerging AI capabilities.

Bok AI Lab will meet on Friday mornings (with coffee and snacks) from 8:30 - 10:00 am in the Bok Center's Learning Lab at 50 Church Street, 3rd Floor, 374.
