Sophia is a 4th year PhD student in Systems, Synthetic, and Quantitative Biology studying the evolution of bacteria and their mobile genetic elements. While working on her PhD, she has discovered that she loves learning how to teach and teaching students how to learn! She is especially passionate about increasing accessibility to research through both teaching and direct mentorship.
