Ruth Tweedy is a PhD candidate whose research spans the Earth & Planetary Sciences and Human Evolutionary Biology departments. For her PhD, Ruth uses organic chemistry to reconstruct how climate and ecological change shaped human and ape evolution in eastern Africa. Ruth has been teaching since she was an undergraduate down the road at MIT, and is passionate about communicating science in a clear, concise, and – most importantly (!) – engaging way. Outside of the lab and the classroom, you can find Ruth hiking, baking, watching movies, and traveling!
