Led By: Pamela Pollock, Director of Professional Development, Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning
How do you respond when someone asks you what you are working on? How do you describe your research to your introductory students? In this interactive workshop, hosted by the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning and the Graduate Student Commons, you will get an overview of some essential skills for communicating your research clearly to a non-specialist audience. Participants will explore the value of communicating their research to students and develop strategies related to both content and delivery, including identifying and eliminating jargon, different ways to structure an explanation, and connecting with students.
3/10/2020- This workshop has been cancelled. Due to University guidelines around COVID-19 prevention, we have cancelled this workshop out of an abundance of caution. We look forward to seeing you at future events, and thank you for your interest in Bok programming.
