Robert Reid-Pharr, Professor of Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality
Robert Reid-Pharr will lead a discussion of how to get past the phobias that many students and instructors have about the acquisition of complex theoretical and critical ideas. Drawing on the methods he and his students have developed in order to encourage both confidence and boldness when addressing difficult texts, he will suggest several easy and practical methods of how to approach theory and lead a conversation in which participants will be encouraged to share their own best methods.
