# Using AI in Student Assessment

## **Draft a Rubric**

Using the **HUIT AI Sandbox and the OpenAI Edu License**, you can:

- Upload your assignment prompt to generate a first draft of a rubric.
- Use AI to identify both explicit and implicit criteria embedded in the assignment prompt, ensuring your rubric is comprehensive.
- Refine the AI-generated draft to align with your course objectives and grading standards

## **Norm Grades Across Sections**

Ensuring consistent grading across large courses and multiple teaching staff can be challenging. Harvard-supported AI tools can assist in:

- Uploading your course rubric or answer key alongside examples of graded student work.
- Prompting the AI to compare submissions against the rubric and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in grading across sections.
- Flagging student work that deviates significantly from the norm for further (human) review.
