Michael Allen
Michael is a PhD candidate in English. He earned a BA from George Washington University in English and Political Science, and a Master’s in English from Oxford University for a dissertation on the poets W.H. Auden and Geoffrey Hill. His PhD research examines postwar British poetry in light of American poets and American culture. He is the winner of the Francis J Child Prize for Excellence in Teaching from the English Department. And he has taught classes on poetry, the novel, and other subjects at Harvard, Oxford, and Framingham State Prison. Before starting graduate school, he helped manage an independent bookshop in Washington, DC.
