As a Postdoctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence, Jungyoon works with faculty and teaching fellows to support learning both with and about AI, by helping them integrate AI tools into their teaching and critically engage with how AI is reshaping education. Her research explores how users navigate processes of meaning-making with AI, drawing on close, qualitative analyses of interaction data to understand how users interpret and engage with AI systems in relation to the surrounding social context. More broadly, Jungyoon is interested in how people interact with and through digital technologies to achieve social goals. She also conducts research on multimodality, interactivity, and storytelling on social media.

Prior to joining the Bok Center, Jungyoon was an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Linguistics from Georgetown, and her B.A. in English from Seoul National University.
