Derek Robey
Derek is a PhD candidate in Sociology. His work examines the dynamics of ethnoracial and religious pluralism, with a particular focus on cultural processes of collective memory formation, stigmatization, and recognition. Currently, he is studying efforts in the United States to rename institutions and places named after historical figures who played key roles in racist national histories. He has taught courses on social theory, sociological research methods, and systems of social inequality in his time at Harvard.
