SUMMARY:Teaching Statement Workshop
DESCRIPTION:
What makes a teaching statement compelling? Insightful? Original? How can you translate your lived experience in the classroom into a cogent narrative on the page? What is the difference between a statement that shows the reader your approach, and one that merely tells the reader what you value?

Whether you are on the job market, up for reappointment or promotion, a nominee for a teaching award, or just looking for an opportunity to step back and reflect on your teaching, the Bok Center is here to help you draft a teaching statement that is authentic to your disciplinary context and personal style. Register for this workshop if you’d like to go through a series of helpful exercises designed to lower the barriers to starting a first draft, and for an opportunity to get one-on-one advice as you work on revisions.

Please bring a hard copy of your teaching statement to the workshop (in any stage of completion).
