DESCRIPTION:<p>	<drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="99ef01ea-58b5-4bd0-80ad-2a7f21f7bb83" data-align="right" alt="A stack of books on topics of critical pedagogy and equity and inclusion." data-view-mode="hwp_small"></drupal-media>The 3-part <strong>Critical Pedagogy Workshop Series</strong> is designed for PhD students at all stages who are interested in critical pedagogies, thinking about building their teaching portfolios, and how teaching fits in to their own professional development goals. Each workshop considers different perspectives on teaching–from our disciplines, our students, and other lenses, and how to use those on our own learning journeys as teachers and scholars. Students may attend workshops individually or sign up for all three. <!--break--></p><p>	<u><strong id="docs-internal-guid-c44e1662-7fff-0e0b-2e1d-0cbed4fc5ce6">Teaching and Learning Beyond Disciplinary Boundaries</strong></u><br><em>Thursday, March 11, 3:00-4:00pm EST<br>Led by <a data-url="https://bokcenter.harvard.edu/people/buse-aktas" href="internal:/people/buse-aktas" target="_blank" title="">Buse Aktaş</a>, Bok Pedagogy Fellow</em></p><p>	What are the norms and rules of teaching in your discipline? When and why might you want to go beyond those norms? Acknowledging that each discipline has its own “signature pedagogy,” what are the ways to bring different pedagogical methods into a course, in order to make space for students to learn beyond disciplinary boundaries? In this session, we will hear from instructors, who will share how they designed and taught their interdisciplinary courses and what they learned about the limits of their own disciplines in the process.
