SUMMARY:Formative Feedback for Teaching Development: A Focused Conversation
DESCRIPTION:
	Led by Cheryl Jeffs, EdD
Educational development consultant at the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary

Formative feedback is an intentional, voluntary, developmental strategy for instructors to receive feedback about their teaching with the goal of better understanding and improving student learning.

The purpose of this focused conversation is to explore formative feedback for teaching development through the CARRA Model for self-reflection.

CARRA: Curiosity, Ask, Receive, Reflect, Act provides a framework for self- reflection on an individual’s teaching. The model starts with CURIOSITY, (individual awareness, and self-reflection of what is going on in the class), where the instructor then ASKs for feedback, and/or consults the literature. The instructor then RECEIVEs, REFLECTs and interprets the feedback. These processes provide an opportunity for instructors to learn, through reflection on and responding to the feedback, and then deciding how to ACT, change, or adapt, their teaching and learning strategies.

	Please RSVP here.
