PhD students with teaching experience and a passion for teaching and learning are invited to apply for the 2022-2023 cohort of Pedagogy Fellows! Positions are available for Pedagogy Fellows based either in Departments or at the Bok Center. Applications are due by 5:00pm EST, Friday, February 25, 2022.
Pedagogy Fellows (PFs) enhance professional development for Teaching Fellows within their departments and across the FAS. With the Bok Center’s mentorship and training, they support pedagogy seminars, lead workshops, consult with Teaching Fellows (TFs), and develop resources on teaching and professional development for their peers.
The program gives experienced and creative PhD students the opportunity to grow in their own careers as teachers and scholars. Each year, fellows reflect on how much they learn from working with the Bok Center and their peers. Fellows this year have been instrumental in supporting both new and experienced TFs as they returned – or arrived for the first time – to campus to teach in person, by curating resources, sharing ideas and strategies, and creating spaces for TFs to come together, practice, and learn from one another. Here are some highlights from this year’s cohort:

Juan Arias and Luca Politi, Pedagogy Fellows in Romance Languages and Literatures, launched a monthly newsletter, RLL in the Classroom, to share ideas and spark discussion around teaching in the department.

Sarah Bramao-Ramos, Pedagogy Fellow in East Asian Languages and Civilizations, recorded interviews with faculty, graduate students, and alumni about teaching to share with and inspire new Teaching Fellows.

Roya Huang, Pedagogy Fellow in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB), built on the efforts of last year’s PF in MCB to help launch the program’s first pedagogy course this spring.
