The Bok Center held a teaching statement workshop for nine non-ladder faculty nominated for the OUE’s Anya Bernstein Bassett Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Chloe Chapin, the Bok Center’s Assistant Director for Course Development, led participants through hands-on exercises designed to help their statements highlight their pedagogical practices and classroom innovations from a more student-centered perspective. The cross-divisional gathering fostered peer reflection and the sharing of teaching approaches across several disciplines, offering participants tailored guidance within a broader community of practice. One participant commented that the content and resources were incredibly helpful, but appreciated even more “the wonderful way in which \[Chloe\] facilitated the process for everyone—it was positive, calming, and really reflective!”
