The Teaching Statement and Sample Syllabus are key components of a compelling teaching portfolio, offering search committees a concrete sense of what it is like to learn in your classroom. But how do you narrate your growth as a teacher, articulate your core values, and translate them into course design? In this workshop, we will discuss how to craft a reflective, student-centered teaching statement and how to design a sample syllabus that communicates course goals, structure, and assignments. You will then have the opportunity to draft or revise your own materials and to participate in a peer review session.
