Are you putting the finishing touches on your syllabus and Canvas site in anticipation of the January course preview period? As we prepare for yet another semester of teaching unsettled by the pandemic, with 63% of Harvard’s first year students [reporting](https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2021/9/10/freshman-survey-covid/) that COVID has had a negative impact on their mental health, it is more important than ever to think about how the way that we design and present our courses—and especially our policies with regard to things like deadlines, participation, and collaboration—affect the wellbeing of our students and teaching staff. How can we create an environment that is engaging, challenging, and inclusive of students from all backgrounds? Join [Sarah Lipson](https://www.bu.edu/sph/profile/sarah-lipson/) (Assistant Professor, Department of Health Law Policy and Management, Boston University School of Public Health; Principal Investigator, [The Healthy Minds Network](https://healthymindsnetwork.org/)) this Monday, January 10, from 1:30–2:30pm for a Zoom workshop on how to create a syllabus that is responsive to our trying times.
