Mario Small, Grafstein Family Professor of Sociology
Professor Mario Small will share insights from his recent book, Someone To Talk To, which examines—based in large part on the experiences of graduate students in their first, often difficult year in their programs—how people make decisions about whom to turn to when they need support. He will examine the relations between students and advisers, with particular attention to the issues that arise from the ambiguities that are inherent in the relation.
