Are you interested in…

… developing a new course on the history of Harvard or higher education that reckons with the sector’s ties to slavery?

… creating innovative assignments that allow students to use the findings of the Report of the Presidential Committee on Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they are learning in your course?

… opportunities for your students to do research or create materials that contribute to the Presidential Initiative’s ongoing research efforts?

Please join the Bok Center and distinguished speakers on 2–3 February 2023 for an Exploratory Seminar on “Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery: From the Committee Report to the Classroom.” Over three sessions and lunch we will learn about curricular efforts to address the entangled histories of higher education and slavery at Harvard and beyond, and begin to discuss how to design course materials and experiences for your students. Participants will also have the opportunity to return for a second two-day seminar in March to implement the ideas generated in the February meetings.
